Art Lovers and Artists: Your Attention Please!
The Master Secrets Summit ^ | 03-08-14 | Auntie Mame

A painter friend of mine is putting on a web convention of famous contemporary artists. It includes interviews with Marvin Mattelson, Albert Handell, Fernando Freitas, and many other Masters in the art world.

I apologize for not posting this sooner, as it's been going on for a week now and is only available until March 26, 2014. There have been six interviews released with a new one every day.

If you are an artist or art-lover, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to gain information and inspiration to help transform your own art or hear from the masters.

This is really good. It's inspiring me and I'm not an artist, can't even draw a straight line.

One of the artists (Marvin Mattelson) has paintings in the Smithsonian, another is a plein air painter extraordinaire (Albert Handell), another teaches in the traditional atlier style (Fernando Freitas), many have written books on art and painting, they discuss their own development as professional artists, and offer suggestions to others who might be struggling on how to clear that hurdle.

But I’m somewhat unhappy that the link asked for my email address without having much to say about what the site itself is about.

You say the link took you to an ad for art supplies. It takes me to a page with a short video that starts out, “Hi, I’m Kathryn Lloyd and I’m a painter. I know what it’s like to want to take your painting to the next level.” etc.

She then mentions something about, “we’ve got gamblin paints and _____ brushes.” Is that what you mean about an ad for art supplies? I don’t think those interviews are about selling their stuff. They are supposed to be the best of the best of art supplies and all artists are interested in using the finest products they can get.

The only thing asked of you is to put in your email address so you can receive the links to the videos. Nothing in the course costs anything. If you don’t want to watch the videos with the makers of the paint and the brushes, you can skip those.

My painter friend makes nothing from this series and neither do the interviewees, in fact this whole project is costing her quite a bit to put on, both in time and treasure. I don’t even understand why she’s doing it but it’s something she set out to do. She’s passionate about painting. I think she’s doing a great job. I’m really impressed with her interviewing skills.

The videos are free to anyone who signs up; these Masters in the art world have given their time to be interviewed for free. A few of them are elderly and have rarely been interviewed.

If you’re interested in art or are an artist of any kind, they’re very inspiring.

You just keep up the sales pitch, that post was tacky.

Tacky is correct. And why give your email contact info for a future spam attack? Not only that the woman who comes on the link is totally unknown. Not listed and has no sales records.

A wannabe trying to build an opt-in email list.
