PORTLAND, Ore. — A crazed cat is behind bars after it attacked a baby and held an Oregon family hostage in a bedroom, forcing them to call 911.

According to KPTV, the ferocious feline — a 22-pound Himalayan named Lux — “went over the edge” Sunday evening after it was punished for scratching a couple’s 7-month-old baby. The baby was not injured.

When the peeved pet began charging at its owners, the family and their dog hid in a bedroom, where they called 911.

"He's got kind of a history of violence," the caller said, adding that the cat continued to charge whenever they tried to open the door.

A shotgun in your living room?

You’d have a pissed off wife to deal with after that.

Cowards. Grab the little bastard and slam him against the wall. You’ll get scratched. It happens. Bunch of fags.

Growing up I routinely saw my 90lb Lab mix make the mistake of backing cats up against walls and into corners. Funny as all heck to see the looks on her face realizing that her ego’d written a check the car was perfectly willing to cash ...

Actually, a .22 would have been best in that situation.

Cats have been known to do this - just flip out - and they can be extremely vicious when they attack. I had a friend whose cat suddenly leaped onto her back from a bannister when she was going upstairs. The cat clawed her so severely on the upper arm and shoulder that she needed many stitches, was left with serious scars - and then on top of that, got “cat scratch fever” (a type of blood poisoning from their dirty little claws) that had her in the ICU for nearly a week. The cat had occasionally been a little weird, but never to this extent, and the attack was completely unprovoked.

Another friend who was an EMT was called to a “cat attack” and laughed all the way to the address - when she saw a mother and daughter being hustled out of the house, covered in blood, by police who had responded to shoot the cat. In this case, the mother said that the cat was always “bad tempered,” and when it tried to bite her leg, she pushed it away and it went ballistic, leaping at them and literally chasing them around the apartment. When she paused to grab her daughter, the cat leaped on her, ripping up her face and upper body.

A 22 lb cat? Would his name happen to be ‘Bob’?

“the family and their dog hid in a bedroom”

THE DOG TOO???

It could be a small dog, but even if not, NEVER underestimate the damage an angry, big cat can do to a dog. When we were young, a friend's family owned a really big, and rather nasty cat, who put up with those who fed him, but was pretty mean. And he TERRORIZED every dog in the neighborhood. He had to be put down after attacking a neighborhood child, requiring many stitches. But this cat nearly killed a German Shepard, requiring over 60 stitches.

Dad admits he whacked the cat.

Cat haters often mistreat cats which produces mean cats which confirm to the cat hater's warped opinion of cats. Mean unhappy people with mental issues will produce mean unhappy cats with mental issues.

A lot of dogs are contemptible cowards, avoiding anything close to a fair fight.

Our 2 year old bassset at 60 pounds is afraid of a 6 pound cat. One hiss and he’s a whimpering fool hiding in the corner. The cat thinks its funny and now has a huge ego.

Must have been some wimpy German Shepherd. Any large dog should be able to put down any domestic cat, even a Maine cooncat in short order. I had one crazy neighbor who kept two full grown Bobcats out of the South Carolina swamps as pets and he did not take a chance on letting them get into fights with dogs. As he put it, a cat’s bones are much finer and easier to break than a dog’s bones, any cat that has been crunched in the jaws of a sizable dog is not likely to live long. I have had my own hand and forearm raked and bitten by a black shorthaired tomcat that weighed at least 15 pounds and had only minor scratches, nothing to frighten me.

Cats areevil.

Of all the cats I've known almost all have been good-natured, probably a better percentage than the dogs I have known. The only mean cat I've known was unfortunate as a kitten to meet up with a maladjusted punk who succeeded in producing a cat as unlikable as himself.
