Promoting Plan B

I stopped by Walgreen's for a prescription today and in the POP display at the prescr4iption was a package of "plan B" abortifacient. I told the tech I understood that they have to sell it but was uncomfortable with the promotion of the product. She told me to "take it up with the corporate offices" and that everyone working there had expressed similar opinions. It'd be good if they received a $hitload of letters and e-mails. I'm just sayin'.

The bottom line is that if women want to be used as hump toys for horny boys then women will need “plan B” abortifacient so “they won’t be punished with a pregnancy.”

Wake up ladies — Find some self-esteem and stop believing the liberal lies. Find some self-respect and the boys will do the same.

I'm not trying to be mean to either you or the employees, but If I understood your testimony correctly then please take note. As a consequence of parents not making sure that their children are being taught about the federal government's constitutionally limited powers, seemingly most voters are evidently not aware of the following concerning constitutional limits on the federal government's power concerning the availability of the product that you described.

Regardless of the unreasonably wide interpretation of Congress's Commerce Clause powers by FDR's activist justices to help decide the infamous case of Wickard v. Filburn in Congress's favor in 1942, respected constitutional experts had previously clarified that Congress has no business sticking its big nose into intrastate commerce which you are describing. Using terms like "does not extend" and "exclusively," Thomas Jefferson had indicated the following about the limits of Congress's Commerce Clause powers.

“For the power given to Congress by the Constitution does not extend to the internal regulation of the commerce of a State, (that is to say of the commerce between citizen and citizen,) which remain exclusively (emphases added) with its own legislature; but to its external commerce only, that is to say, its commerce with another State, or with foreign nations, or with the Indian tribes.” –Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson’s Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank : 1791.

But who cares what Thomas Jefferson wrote? After all, only activist justices have the metaphysical power to properly interpret the Constitution, right? /sarc

It turns out that, regardless what FDR's puppet justices wanted everybody the think about the scope of Congress's Commerce Clause powers, these justices had wrongly ignored that a previous generation of Constitution-respecting justices had reflected on Jefferson's words, officially clarifying that Congress has no business making laws which regulate intrastate Commerce.

”State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress. (emphases added)” —Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
“Inspection laws, quarantine laws, health laws of every description, as well as laws for regulating the internal commerce of a state (emphasis added) and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c., are component parts of this mass.” —Justice Barbour, New York v. Miln, 1837.

Note that the excerpts from the Supreme Court opinions use health laws as an example of powers that the states never delegated to Congress through the Commerce Clause.

If you're living in a conservative state, basically the only reasons that your state representatives and federal senators possibly didn't fight federal laws concerning Plan B is the following. Not only are your state and federal government representatives arguably as clueless about the federal government's constitutionally limited powers as the voters who elected them are, but state lawmakers foolishly gave up the voice of the state legislatures in Congress when they ratified the ill-conceived 17th Amendment.
