I used to fly all the time and enjoyed it. After 9/11 I flew about 5 times after that up to about 2004. I have not since and will not again for various reasons. I left a job that wanted me to travel to their India office.

I now carry everywhere I go, I don’t want to be molested by TSA, I don’t like the flying public compared to years ago, and I don’t think the new aged pilots as a whole are as good as the Vietnam era pilots who could actually fly the plane that have retired (not to mention all the foreign ones).

The flying part never bothered me it was all the other stuff that went with it.

I never liked any part of flying. Then as seats and leg room got smaller you always got seated next to an over sized person. Their fat rolls hang over the armrest (I know they can’t help it). Then it became unbearable. I am a small sized woman, 5’3” slightly plump, the seats are a perfect fit for me.

I had a very large woman say to me “we will both be more comfortable if I just lift this arm rest”. OH NO WE WON’T FAT GIRL! Was my reply (sort of). :)

The TSA was the least of my complaints.

Good for you!

I, too, carry wherever I go and one cannot carry on our beloved public transportation, so I say, screw ‘em, I’ll go by my private vehicle.
