“the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. “
and now in the times of Jesus’s victory, those rules are given internally, by the comforter. You are living in old testament ways...not in the new ways..If you keep on using the scripture to excuse a lack of faith, you will never find real life.

Torah is Life. The blessed man meditates on it day and night. He does the mitzvot, not in order to rack up points, but because Torah Actualizes who he is. The connection between doing “good works” (mitzvot) and increasing in the knowledge of G-d is correct. Once you understand the context of the writings it’s easy to see the that the vision of these men was within the historical stream of the religion of Israel, and that religion is Torah.
Last I checked, the Epistles to Timothy were in the New Testament...
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
You of course are free to ignore the entire teaching of Scripture and follow the psycobabble of Reuben Obermeister instead of the inspired Word if you wish.
