That’s why both my desktop at home and my laptop runs Windows 7 Home Edition (Service Pack 1). In my humble opinion, the best version of Windows since Windows 2000 Professional.

Ray, perhaps you would know about this - I just “upgraded” to Windows 8.1, and read of the need to reinstall the Office version I have to get it to work. After reinstalling my Office 2007 version, ... nothing is available, as though this version of Office won’t run with Win8.1. Do you know of a way to get Office 2007 to run in Windows 8.1?

Windows 8.1 is actually a better version of Windows 7, and you can pretty much run it like Windows 7 with a better Programs sub-menu once you get the feel of it. There are significant performance improvements over Win7 in 8.1
