Officials have started looking into the lives of Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah and co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid in the hope of finding further clues. --SNIP--
Malaysia Airlines has said it does not believe pilot Zaharie would have sabotaged the plane, and his colleagues were incredulous.
Pictures have emerged this weekend of the captain in a T-shirt with a Democracy is Dead slogan, amid fears he may have hijacked the plane as an anti-government protest.
Zaharie was a fervent supporter of his country's opposition leader who was jailed for homosexuality just hours before MH370 vanished.
But a Malaysia Airlines pilot who is close to Zaharie told Reuters. "Is it wrong for anyone to have an opinion about politics?"
"Please, let them find the aircraft first. Zaharie is not suicidal, not a political fanatic."
Investigators say they have not received any ransom or other demand.

The political protest angle doesn’t make any sense.
1) He’d want to publicize it if that’s what his intention was, otherwise, what good is it?
2) More importantly, it would probably doom his political hero to life in prison, not just 5yrs.
Makes you wonder about the untold hundreds of billions spent on R&D and construction of the Air Force stealth fleet. All that time a private aircraft mfg. was building huge aircraft impervious to radar and evaded detection by multiple Asian private and military entities in Asia, the most heavily populated area of the planet. China and India air defense must be squirming about now.

IMO every Muslim alive is a lunatic so I expect them to defend their own. What are the Chinese saying about 200+ nationals probably dead? It could be that its no big deal with many more starving there but youd think they would be outraged “officially”.
Whoever did this, this was not about gays. It was about the chip manufacturing engineers who were on board.
I this was a gay protest, they would be all over TV exposing themselves.
This is about the plane and about the ability of the chip engineers onboard.
