Palin has nothing to do with the Iowa GOP gubernatorial primary. That’s just silly.

I’ve never stopped being a republican, and I’m running as a Republican. It’s official. Live with it.

“.....deserve to hear what both candidates’ vision of the future of our state is.”

What is your vision? Do you have solid business, investment, educational, agriculture contacts?

What would you do to strengthen the economy of your state over the next four years?

How does your resume prepare and qualify you to do that, better than your opponent?

Gee, I could have sworn that you were the party chairman for a party, one for which you even ran as it’s nominee for president in 2012.

Even Romney wasn’t this slippery and dishonest in his efforts to evade people learning about him.

No more Branstad Common Core.

True Local Control of the schools, which means getting the feds and the state out of the education business, and leaving the money at home, instead of sending it to Des Moines and DC, so they can run it through a big bureaucracy and then send a little back with strings attached.

Junk the crony capitalism that passes these days for “economic development.” Get rid of the state income tax. Deregulate. Cut out layers of bureaucracy. That will create a tide that will lift all boats. That’s how you strengthen the economy, by getting the hand of government off the throat of businesses and the taxpayers.

Those are a couple of the major things I’m running on.

And you might be surprised how much traction that message is getting. Across the political spectrum.

My only credentials are my principles and ideas, along with a twenty year track record of adhering to those principles in the political arena.

Hey Tom, have you ever won an election for any office?

I ask because you’ve been talking yourself up for years on FR, running for this or that office for what seems like forever.

Again, have you ever won any election or are you just becoming tedious?

I’m leaning towards tedious and am becoming annoyed at your constant self-promotion.

I won’t annoy you any more, Jean. Just delete the thread. And my account if you want. I’m tired of being constantly trolled and nothing being done about it.

My question was how do you make money. I believe you have to eat, so how to you pay for your food. The reason I ask, is I suspect you make your living fleecing the unwitting here of their hard earned money with your phony campaigns. When you ran for President last cycle, it seemed you spent the entire campaign on this forum. A good place to fleece the true believers and the unwitting. You seem to me to be a grifter, a con man.

A brilliant man once wrote this about Alan Keyes.

“Only a con man would go out and run in the Presidential primaries of three different parties in one year, especially a man that has never won any election, anywhere, ever.”

You are the challenger and, ipso facto, the underdog. You should be the one to answer the question that was asked without mumbo jumbo about the incumbent having to answer first. Otherwise, you are making the argument that you are merely using the party apparatus.

This is an old thread. The election is long over. He creamed me.

But he’s still the same old RINO he’s always been, propped up by conservatives who won’t think outside the same old box.

Sorry, I picked it up late, but still think you should have simply answered the Q .. so did you endorse/support him, even tho he’s a RINO? Or did he ask for your support? Just curious. I’ve never run for public office, so don’t know quite how that end of it works.

Sorry to confuse people by posting an old thread. Wanted to give EV public credit somehow, rather than just doing a private reply.

I was being trolled on this thread, heavily, by people who had a long history of trolling me, and wasn’t in any mood that day to answer their loaded questions. So, sue me.

And no, I didn’t support Branstad. He’s one of the biggest RINOs in the country. I don’t vote for people who are helping to destroy our country, and my state.

Everything I said in my admittedly longshot campaign against him was correct. He claims to be pro-life, but won’t lift a finger to stop abortion, or even to defund Planned Parenthood, as he promised to do. He won’t do anything to rein in the out of control judges who imposed “gay marriage” on our state.

We also have the highest corporate tax rate in America, and among the highest marginal personal tax rates, something Branstad and his crony capitalist buddies couldn’t care less about.

And, as I warned would occur, the first thing he did in the last legislative session was force through a 45% gas tax increase.

And he’s kept pushing his pro-homosexual “bullying” legislation too. The legislature has continued to oppose that, thankfully, but recently Branstad went ahead with it anyway via executive order.

So, anyhow, I don’t think I have anything to apologize for. No one else would stand up to him, so I did. No regrets.

Not for myself. I’ve helped win a few congressional and state legislative seats for other people here and there over the years. How about you?
