No doubt. Huge infrastructure would need to be built on both ends, not to mention a massive expansion of the fleet for carrying the stuff. I would assume at least several years, perhaps five or more, to make a significant impact.
Or. We could provide tech help and assistance for the Ukrainians, Poles, Germans, etc. to drill for their own shale gas, of which they have plenty. I don't think that would take much longer, and having friendly countries with their own energy supplies not subject to the dangers of sea transport is all in our national interest.
Also, not exporting gas from US will keep the price lower here. :)
