There is no story.

This guy is looking at an online database of the towns assessor. The data base shows a common date, 12/25/09 and the amount of $0 for the last “sale” field.

Having worked with databases for years, you often need to put in a default date when building the records. What dates would you use as a “dummy” date? Usually Christmas or New Years. Christmas works because it usually stands out in your mind when it’s written. When you see it, you stop and pay attention.

My guess is this web site used a data dump from a computerized system. Where there are homes that haven’t sold since the start of the use of this data base, the dummy date was dropped in there.
