I had something similar happen too when I was boggie boarding some sizable waves near Hazard’s Canyon on the Central Coast of CA. I’d just kicked into and caught a wave, dropped over the ledge, and a BIG dolphin blasted out of the face of the wave about 10 or 15 feet in front of me and soared oven me and the lip of the breaking wave. Dolphins are Master Wave Riders- no one get hit in the pelvis by accident.
