We’re having BBQ burritos tonight.(left over smoked ribs)
I know St Paddy might not approve, but he never had them.

Which Massachusetts establishment would you recommend? I don't know anyone who would claim that any MA restaurant could stand up to the major BBQ states -- but, since you asked: Red Bones in Cambridge/Somerville, Firefly's in Marlborough, and Firebox in Bedford are not bad at all.
I can think of three other fine establishments which have closed over the past 20-30 years. Not enough demand, I suppose.

I was thinking about redbones as an option. Blue ribbon just up the road in arlington isn’t bad either though it has been a while since I’ve sampled either.

KC has no representation.”
Agree wholeheartedly. Many great places in KC. Wonder why they were left off?

I still muss Bob’s Southern Bistro on Columbus Ave and the Hoodoo BBQ in Kenmore Square. Also there was a hidden place in Ayer which closed about a month after I found it. Very sad.

Ya beat me! Black’s in Lockhart is in my top two. It is hmmmm, hmmmm, good.

Thanks for the post, but this list has no credibility. KC has no representation.Exactly... However, putting Oklahoma Joe's Burnt Ends on bread would be sacrilege! Even sauce is unneeded (and unwanted!)
BTW, over the weekend, I saw that OKIE Joe's was named 2012 "Most Manly" restaurant in the USA in 2012! The original, in the gas station in KCKS.
Their meats, especially their burnt ends and smoked sausage are HEAVENLY!

There's another KC BBQ "Star" that I never really cared for... Gate's BBQ. I'll go there if someone drags me along, but the only reason I ever go myself is if there's someone from out of town who's never been there. I love walking in the door with a "newbie" who'll jump out of his or her skin when the employee shouts "Hi! May I help you?!"
But I've always found the brisket to be dry. And they've got "boring" pickles.

You can keep your mustard sauce, NC Sauce (either type western or coastal) are both better!

Mother used to sometimes put Cole slaw on our hot dogs. It was pretty good.

Yes, it’s good. Shoot, all food is good to me! :-) It’s just that Texans don’t do slaw on BBQ sandwiches. I also like sauerkraut on hot dogs very much.
