Starting today, Apple will no longer sell the iPad 2. Even though the iPad 2 launched in early 2011, Apple has kept it around at a lower price. When Apple started selling the current iPad Air last fall, it still sold the iPad 2 starting at $399.
Now, Apple will sell the iPad with Retina display, commonly referred to as the "iPad 4" because it was the fourth generation of the product, starting at $399. (The iPad 2 did not have the super-sharp Retina display.)

Well, mine sucks and even with hardly any use, the screen has already developed ‘shadowing’ on the left side that they won’t address.
I am sorry I wasted the money on it.
I still use my original IPad. For email, music and FR it cannot be beat.
I think mine was a lemon.
:-\
The Ipad 2 could have a longer shelf life, but not at $400 a pop. Should be a $200 or under item at this point, but Apple won’t sell it for that so it just sits there going.. Yea I’m still here for sale, but for 25% more you can get 2+ years newer, more memory, better screen, faster processor...
Makes little sense that the thing is still in the supply chain at the price it is.
Still using my iPad 1.
I also have an iPad2. Though it works fine when I have connectivity, Apple products don’t support Adobe Flash video because Steve Jobs didn’t like it so can’t watch anything with that format.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8 and 12 ftw. I have a Note 3 that is the convergence of phone and PDA that I’ve sought.
This recent Apple business remind me of what happened when they canned Jobs. Long-term, Apple’s going to go into a slow spiral without him.
Yup, there’s that, too.
YouTube has gone heavily for Flash videos which is a real pain in the neck.
At this point, I use it in the bedroom to surf occasionally and take it with me in the car for use with my iPhone hotspot if I need to see bigger maps or photos.
Oh, and I read Kindle books on it, too.
Apple desktop products support Flash just fine. Apple mobile products do not but the reason is Flash was, and continues to be, a CPU hog and a memory hog. Both are bad for a battery operated device with relatively small memory.
"Didn't like it" as in "battery hog and security nightmare". H.264 is far more secure and power-efficient, and Jobs didn't want to Apple mobile devices to be accused of poor battery life when the problem was Flash.

I’ve dropped mine and shattered it twice already...I’m worried the next replacement won’t available.....
What is “H.264” ?
Tech list PING!
Unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2” is going to kill the whole iPad line unless Apple hurries up and returns serve. I’m already very tempted to switch...
What do they have to offer that iPad doesn't (besides Flash)? And I suspect that I would have to switch from AT&T to Version to use it - true?
I'm this close to switching, though I would still keep my iPad 3 for its excellent music apps. But the Note Pro is a far better business tool at this point. Apple needs to counter with a 12" iPad with full MS Office support to stay in the game.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC - essentially, it’s a web-friendly video codec, making Flash video rather pointless.
