First Lady Michelle Obama will be accompanied by her children and her mother on her trip to China, which begins today. But she won't be accompanied by the press.
"Michelle Obama’s trip to China starting on Wednesday will be nonpolitical, the White House says, a 'people-to-people exchange' emphasizing the importance that both nations place on education. As if to underscore the point, no reporters are traveling with the first lady, and she does not plan to give interviews while there," reports the New York Times.
The White House is defending the first lady bringing her family along for the ride by saying it's what the Chinese would want. "Tina Tchen, Mrs. Obama’s chief of staff and a first-generation Chinese-American, said a multigenerational visit would be appreciated by the Chinese, who value tradition," says the Times.

Curious that the press was banned. The lapdog American press has never had a problem covering for the 0bamas before, so I wouldn’t think it would take much to get them to look the other way as she accepted a large bribe.
Say what you like, this sounds political to me; therefore, fair game on which to report.

To me the point is simple: We pay, we send reporters. She pays, she has privacy.
Is the “Lizard in Chief” Valerie Jarrett tagging along on this trip with Mooch-elle?
The Obamas can do whatever they damn well feel like doing. The press have ordained it.
Gosh, I would doubt it, can Barry do anything other than play golf without her doing the thinking for him?
She’s entitled to take her children on a private family vacation - at her own expense. But she’s having it both ways - enormous expense to us while she will spend some token time on something to claim it was for our country’s interest - and hide it by denying any press coverage which would show that 98% of her time not spent sleeping, eating, or “in private” was spent sightseeing or shopping. What a farce. Guess she still has to hit Australia and New Zealand. Probably some South American countries still on the list. I wouldn’t be surprised if she insists on taking the kids on Branson’s little spaceship.
Someone needs to put together a little “Where’s Michelle” website showing all the places visited and amounts spent on the Empress. Make a game of it - like Ticket to Ride, so it could teach some geography, history, and art (perhaps be very politically incorrect and include questions about why it was so important for her to visit a particular place - and the reality behind some of the subterfuge).
If it’s important enough for the taxpayers to be paying for this vacation for her and her family, then the press should be required to cover it.
This is the Obama’s in an election year. God help us all and this country past the election.
She is going condo shopping for their new digs after her hubby destroys America.
They don’t want Americans seeing that no Chinese pay the slightest bit of attention to Moochel.
She’ll be back in time for the annual vacation to Martha’s Vineyard. (no joke)
And this is how communism works...see the children...it’s like looking at clones isn’t it. See that group of ten year olds. Some of them work 14 hours a day. Its the Chinese way!!
