Authorities in Tampa have arrested a 31-year-old woman is facing five-years in prison for animal cruelty charges after she allegedly performed a c-section on a dog with a 'steak knife', no anesthesia and then used glue to close the amateur incision.

The Mastiff called Nadia died soon after and now Candace Patricia Hauser is facing a felony charge for removing the last two of the dogs 13 puppies on March 4 even though there was a veterinarian nearby.

Investigators arrested Hauser on March 5 when the dog's owner brought her to Veterinary Healthcare Associates in Winter Haven telling them she believed the animal was dying - when in fact Nadia was already dead....

I wonder if the druggies, white trash and gangsta-wannabes have started breeding mastiffs for aggression like they did with pit bulls? Almost a separate breed by now, the bad rep comes from there. An unstable, highly aggressive mastiff inbred for generations to fix those traits would be a terror.

Spend a day in WV and get back to me on that.

Bitches are expendable.

There’s always lots more where she came from.

Surrender the dog to someone who wouldn’t butcher it. If she can’t afford a dog, she has no place owning one, much less a whole litter. If she can’t afford a vet for one dog, how is she going to care for a whole litter? The dog’s owner and the butcher are not the victims here.

Context? Why bring up C-section of human females as some sort of analogy to what what done to this dog?

The missing context is yours, sporto.

Yes.

They are also being used, along with other Mastiff variants, in breeding bigger, meaner pit dogs.

You don’t know “one woman” who has had a c section? You are completely delusional unless you just don’t know any women. Completely out in left field.

No, I don't. Why WOULD I know any women with C sections? C sections are NOT normal, average surgery. I am neither a doctor or a nurse, but I am a woman, an older one. Maybe the YOUNG mothers today know tons of women who had C sections, but I doubt it. I taught 18-30 year old students, half of them women, for almost 30 years. Retired last year. C sections were NOT a "hot" topic that today's women discussed at any length.

Those women didn't GET them either. Young women today are VERY savvy about those things.

More to the point why do YOU know so many? Are you a doctor or nurse? That is SERIOUS surgery. Why would ANYONE know people BECAUSE they had C sections? It makes no sense.

While there are a few no kill shelters its hard to find one that will take a pregnant dog. Especially for this breed.

Take it to the Humane Society, ASPCA or Peta and it will probably be euthanized before she’s out of the parking lot.

She chose poorly, there’s no doubt but thats why we have juries.

You need a new vet, then.

Do you not have dog health insurance?

I get 90% of the cost refunded.

There are pockets of the same behavior in every state I’ve ever visited, rural Maine, central Florida, New Mexico can be particularly nuts in this regard if you stumble into the wrong area. West Virginia just seems to have more of it, or it’s at least more visible than most places.

Because I was replying to post #8 where that poster said

“Someone ought to perform a C-section on HER and see how she likes it.”

So ya see I didn’t bring it up. I was responding to an insane poster. Go neuter yourself.

Irrelevant.

WV is simply the easiest place to see it in action.

Any Amish or Mennonite farm is another likely place to find puppy mills cranking out dogs.

Thanks for the research. I remember reading that prior to John Edwards “channeling” his cerebral palsy plaintiff, C-sections made up about 7% of births. After that multi-million dollar lawsuit, the number jumped to 25%.

It appears that even more OB-GYNs are “playing it safe” and opting for the C-section.

Frigging huge billboards all along I-81, advertising “WV Puppies!”.

A slew of greeders got together and formed something akin to a puppy mill co-op.

It’s mind blowing.

They don’t even hide it.

C sections are NOT normal, average surgery.

Percent of all deliveries by Cesarean: 32.8%

DOH!

When I first brought my dog to the vet we use now, he gave me the number for a 24 hour emergency vet service that gives free advice any time. That number came in handy a couple times, including when my dog was having pups.

There is no excuse for what those women did.

I didn't say you brought it up. But you did equate the butchery of this dog to Caesarian section. You said "C-Section is performed on women all the time." As in, what's the big deal? As in, sterile surgical procedure, or steak knife, what's the diff?

I'm sure you'll keep trying to backpedal and have a nasty last word. But don't think people don't see you were equating the two events.
