Well said
And outside the white West
No one cares about this
Its a tool to strip political power from the right anyhow
LOL PM me and I’ll tell you my raccoon story. It has a storybook ending too.
More to the point, white people are the only one whose preconceptions we are allowed to talk about.
When, for example, a Cheerios commercial that features an interracial couple and generates "controversy", we are not permitted to mention the demographics of people who find interracial couples objectionable--because we might find that that group includes a strikingly high number of black women. We are left to assume that the group consists of nothing but white racists.
I can sympathize a bit with what this author is saying. It IS a real turn-off when the announcers focus on just one player (for whatever reason).
I know the golf announcers made me hate Tiger Woodsd, and their slobbering over him almost made me hate golf.
However, this article still sounds pretty racist.
I don't watch TV but on those rare occasions when I have walked past the TV and observe Mrs. OldPossum half watching a college game and there are only black players on the court, I always say, "Looks like they're playing serious basketball."
Who watches basketball anymore?
“I’ll take ‘other white people’ for $1,000, Alex.”
“The basketball court is the penultimate example of diversity.”
Why is it the second to last example of diversity? (or did you mean ultimate?)
Sorry. Word police. My mother was an English teacher. Word wealth on Fridays.
