A+++ the resident leftie teacher on my friend’s FB page commented on that rating of Obama...his comeback was the awful Koch brothers and Sarah who are undermining the American people. RME He got taken to the woodshed and he is a teacher in our schools here in NY. Crazy. Can’t talk to lefties, their minds are made up.

I am off early to my appointment. It is a consultation, they plan to teach me all about knee replacements, THEN if all goes well they will let me have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. RME The process is killing me, but it is started.

It’s that magical moment right now: the first snow of spring.

Hope it works out well-

Obama’s diplomatic disasters
Are caused, at least in part
By such invidious statements
That leave no room to start

A conversation with meaning
With Putin, or any foe-
Painted into into a corner
He leaves no place to go

Instead, he pushes Kerry out
To threaten sanctions and fines
And super-secret hand spanking
While he draws more red lines...

I can’t believe I did it. I chose the total knee replacement. The makoplasty (partial) is good for 10-12 years, while the full replacement is up to 30...my life expectancy won’t exceed that one. Next appointment is with surgeon and date will be set. One now, one in the fall. OMGosh...what have I started?

I am guessing that I will have LOTS of time to read that series and more recovering from the knee replacement. Did you see my recommendation to read Heaven is Here? Talk about a story, this young woman is amazing. Not many folks live to survive a plane crash with the grace and faith that she did. I ordered two copies in hardcover for friends, I liked it that much.

Start shopping for a place to rehab. The first week or so you will not be able to get around. My mom had to be in the “nursing home” part of the senior complex she lives in.

I am feeling the fear already. The book they gave me says “Joint Camp” like it’s gonna be all fun and play? It’s gonna be PAINFUL. Who are they trying to kid? I sure hope I can manage stairs, they don’t let you go home till you can do them and I don’t want to stay any longer than necessary.

Well, there you go. The hardest part is the rehab. Psych yourself up for it. It will be better than the chronic pain you have been having for years.

Is there a way for you to stay downstairs for a while at home? My friend had both done at once and she did really well with it. She is 2 years older than me and had it done right before Christmas. My MIL did one at a time.

I just hope I can go through with the second one after undergoing the first. RME Wonder if it will be like having a baby, the result is so good, you foolishly do it again and again.

I live in a mid century modern home, first level is kitchen, dining room and half bath. Living room on it’s own level. Top level is full bath and bedrooms. I will have to do stairs. No way I can manage without it. Only good thing is that they are half flights...only 6-8 stairs going in any direction.
