Good one!
When asked what kind of health insurance i have, my reply is:
“I take responsibility for my own health.”
It’s called being a housewife raising a little boy.
I have a brother who may have signed up. I don’t know for sure because I really only hear about him thru another family member. She told me he had looked up a plan and they ranted together about “how is he supposed to afford that kind of monthy premium.” I asked about the deductible and got a blank stare, so I don’t know if he even got that far. Most definitely he can’t afford the kinds of prices I’ve seen bandied about.
I know a 30 year old unemployed student and he had no trouble getting Medicaid. Don’t know if he has used it yet.
One. My daughter. Go figure!
Yes, one person. The lady who does my hair. Its cheaper than what she had before UNLESS she actually needs treatment, then it will not be so good. It has a big deductible and only pays 50% of most stuff after the deductible is met. She is healthy and doesn’t spend much on healthcare, but if she ever becomes ill, she has a big out of pocket.
She could have kept her old plan too. It was a little more per month, but had only a small deductible and paid 75%. She actually tried to go back to her old plan, but she had already paid for the ACA plan and couldn’t figure out how to drop it.
Neither one will say what the deductibles or co-pays are.
I’m thinking they’re in for a big suprise
One is a lipstick limo, Obama supporter whom I only loosely know. She lives in San Diego and supposedly could not get coverage due to pre-existing conditions with out paying an arm and a leg. (shops at Nordstroms, owns a couple houses, drives a Mercedes but constantly complained about how much her insurance was).
Second is a woman I know who has a husband who owns hos own business, she "works" for him. They were alreay paying something like $1600 a month for their family of four. He had one plan she and the two kids another. That went under Obama care this year because according to her they took the subsidy (?) and are saving a lot of money. Again owns a couple of homes, etc.
I have not heard, yet, in either case, how they are faring. The second example I mentioned I see pretty regularly so I will know more about her as the time goes on.
