Move over Pope Francis, there's a new spiritual sensation in town.
An Italian nun has become a national star after she wowed judges on her country's version of "The Voice."
Sister Cristina, from Sicily, saw all four chairs turn around during her blind audition of Alicia Keys' "No One."
The 25-year-old then told the quartet: "I have a gift and I'm giving it to you."
Broadcast on Wednesday night, the clip has already racked up more than 30,000 views.
It shows the Catholic Sister confidently walking out onto the stage and belting out her version of the hit song.
Fellow Sisters bounce up and down backstage as the judges decide they like what they hear and push their buttons - only to be stunned when seeing the singer.
"If I had found you at Mass I would always be in church," joked one of the panel, an Italian rapper known as J-Ax, who then added: "You and me are like the devil and holy water."
Asked what the Vatican would think of her song, Cristina replied: "I hope that Pope Francis will call me now."
She eventually plumped to join J-Ax's team and will now proceed to the battle rounds.
Well, once upon a time, a wedding celebration ran out of wine. I'm sure you know why that would happen. And I'm sure you know what Jesus did.
There are times to laugh and times to cry. And times to evangelize the world, without being of the world.
Or these sisters 8-)
She's not in church. But, you knew that.
The orders in the West have largely been destroyed. The collapse occurred in the late sixties. The story behind the destruction is interesting but very sad.
Dr. William Coulson was a disciple of the influential American psychologist Carl Rogers, and for many years a co-practitioner of the latter's "nondirective" therapy. In 1964 he became chief of staff at Rogers' Western Behavioral Sciences Institute in La Jolla, Ca., where, he says, as the resident Catholic it became his task to "gather a cadre of facilitators to invade the IHM community" of nuns-and later some two dozen other orders, among them the Sisters of Mercy, the Sisters of Providence, and the Jesuits. It was only in 1971 that he began to "back away" from his belief in psychotherapy, when its destructive effects on the religious orders-and on the Church and society in general- became apparent to him.Anyway, there is hope on the horizon. The orthodox orders are growing rapidly, and the modernist orders are dying out.
All right, let’s follow up on that.
If Tebow did that reproving, is he good to go? Can Christians watch the NFL? How much reproving is required? Is one reproof per game requires? Or can one per season take care of it?
What is a suitable medium for reproofing?
What's "news" here, is not that she's is a great singer--- she's not, not really --- nor that "No One" is an inspired text. I wish everyone would look at the video again with different eyes, with your focus on J-Ax's face. Something just leaped out and grabbed him, almost floored him. Thunderstruck with innocence.
Innocence. That's like water in the desert, man.
Here's a woman not twerking, not covered w/ glitter, not 99.5% naked, not on the take, not on the make, just singing as a gift.
Pure gift, pure friend. Pure joy!
I quoted you to somebody else. Plagiarized, really. Can you forgive me? :o)
No Problem-o, Mrs. Don-o...
