The good sister's youthful exuberance is a joy to behold. It reminds me of when I was youthful and exuberant ;-)
I've read a few articles about this, and she is quoted as saying that her intent was to evangelize.
Yes, religious people don't have to be stodgy.
Here are the lyrics in English. It's a simple love song. But the lyrics have a different meaning when sung by a nun.
"No One"
I just want you close
Where you can stay forever
You can be sure
That it will only get better
You and me together
Through the days and nights
I don't worry 'cause
Everything's going to be alright
People keep talking they can say what they like
But all I know is everything's going to be alright
No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I'm feeling
No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I feel for you, you, you
Can get in the way of what I feel for you
When the rain is pouring down
And my heart is hurting
You will always be around
This I know for certain
You and me together
Through the days and nights
I don't worry 'cause
Everything's going to be alright
People keep talking they can say what they like
But all I know is everything's going to be alright
No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I'm feeling
No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I feel for you, you, you
Can get in the way of what I feel
I know some people search the world
To find something like what we have
I know people will try, try to divide, something so real
So till the end of time I'm telling you there ain't no one
No one, no one
Can get in the way of what I'm feeling
No one, no one, no one
Can get in the way of what I feel for you
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh

I’ve seen this posted over and over on FB today, finally watched it, that was AWESOME!
I guess it’s OK, but she’s no Sr. Dominique! (think 1960s)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO7cD6qmydo
That should have been Soeur Sourire! Dominique was the song.
She rocks.
A variation from than the last thread i saw on nuns: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/religion/3135587/posts?page=2
She has talent and energy, but the song and music plays like the world, and much of what passes for contemp-orary “Christian” music. Which many conservative RCs also complain about.
I was struck by the reactions of the judges. All reacted with pleasant, joyful surprise. No looks of “wha?” Just simple, open, honest amazement.
I thought she did very well, and handled herself very well.
A couple of things not in the article:
The crowd chants: “Sister.. sister..”
When one of the judges says, “If I had found you at Mass I would always be in church,” she responds, “well, you have met me now.”
I think it is a fine example of evangelizing, going into the world while not becoming of the world.
thanks for posting.
To all you lemmings that think this woman can sing and that this was a great performance. Are you dumb as well as deaf?
After watching the video I posted this on another thread.
OMG!!! The visual was WAY worse than I ever could have imagined! I was APPALLED, embarrassed, (and Im not Catholic).
I had the image of Satan, from The Passion of the Christ, wandering around behind the other nuns as they cheered and the judges?, (they looked like a biker gang). As I watched this nun gyrate on stage, I cringed inside. My spirit wept.
(Her singing was at best, average).
How ANY Christian, let alone any Catholic, could possibly condone this performance would amaze me.
I dont throw around the words Satan or Evil around lightly, but this was definitely Satanic.
Ill end where I started, OMG! end

Regarding this performance, was that something Jesus would do?
Sister, where is your humility?
Maybe the pope can arrange a competition between convents.
They could call it “The Voice (s of God)”.
Maybe when they go on tour, the three other sisters can be the back up singers. Shoo bop, shoo bop, oooooo.
Humans are soooo easily tempted. Even NUNS can be corrupted by fame, fortune, and man’s recognition.
Don’t reply as I never go back and read replies. I’m pointing out the truth, so if you don’t see it, what more can I do.
Being part of the crowd doesn’t make you right.
Just remember, the whole crowd shouted Barabbas.
