CLEARWATER, Mich.,Police said the Michigan woman accused of stealing a shoe autographed by Hulk Hogan from his Florida store called the shop to say she "had done a stupid thing."
The Clearwater Police Department said the woman, who was caught on camera Sunday swiping the $5,500 autographed shoe from Hogan's Beach Shop in Clearwater, called the store Thursday and confessed, the Tampa Bay (Fla.) Times reported Friday.
The woman, whose name was not released, told workers she had brought the shoe back with her to Michigan and she made arrangements during her Thursday phone call to return it.
Police said no charges have been filed but the woman has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

The Clearwater Police Department said the woman, who was caught on camera Sunday swiping the $5,500 autographed shoe from Hogan's Beach Shop in Clearwater I am guessing the value of the shoe is set by the store and not an open market price.
Personally I have never understood the value people put on the autographs of celebrities.
There is only one person I have ever had the opportunity to get an autograph from that I regret not doing so and that is Edward Teller.
He is only person of real importance that I have met. Entertainment celebrities I do not consider as being important enough to bother with. I rarely even remember their names.

Believe it or not, I think I know who this woman is.
It’s a long story....

Not well; it was very much a professional relationship (she was a witness in a murder case I prosecuted) and it was about 15 years ago.
She was from the Detroit area. Just before trial she had been in custody in Albany, NY, where she had violated a restraining order against her from Nature Boy Rick Flehr. She insisted that after her testimony she had to be back in Detroit by 7:00 p.m.; she had front row tickets to a WWE event that evening.
This sounds like the sort of thing she would do.

Well I do remember who Dick Clark was. I even watched his show once or twice because my older sister was watching.
Come to think of it though I did stand in line to get a book autographed by Dennis Prager because my wife wanted it.

He is a great speaker but as far as impact on the world he doesn’t measure up to an Edward Teller.

I was managing a cocktail/piano bar lounge in South Florida many years ago.
After closing, I walked across the street (beach side) to a newly opened 'saloon' named The Wild Wild West Saloon
Some Giant of a guy comes flying through this big plate glass window and, I'm guessing his buddy a few seconds later.
Out walks this 'litle fella' who asks if I had been hit by the flying bodies (I hadn't).
I got his autograph that night after the police had cleared and after some marathon drinking by he and I!
Yep .. Bob Conrad
Only autograph I ever wanted.
P.S. The two 'Giants' had been goading Conrad most of the night with .. "He thinks he's a bad@$$" and "Hey, Ain't that James West who appears to be littler than my johnson" remarks.
They found out differently. 8)

Considering the name of the saloon; did he own the place?
About what year do you recollect that was?

I believe that he was ‘an’ owner but not sure if solely owned by him.
It didn’t last that long.
I heard (I left Lauderdale right after that incidence) that the place was notorious for fights.
It was around 1977-78
