God's Not Dead didn't have a massive marketing budget, a liberal A-list star above the title or even the same number of screens most mainstream movies receive.
The film is still on pace to snare the fourth spot in the weekend's box office chart in a very competitive frame.
What it had in its corner--a popular actor known for his work on TV's Hercules, the presence of one of Duck Dynasty's key stars and an unabashedly pro-faith message.

"God's Not Dead" star Kevin Sorbo told John W. Kennedy of Faith, Media & Culture that there is a political blacklist in Hollywood and, although he works regularly, he knows he is on it simply for being an Independent. Simply for voting for the "the best person," Sorbo says, "That, in itself, is enough to get me blacklisted in Hollywood."
Wow, who saw that coming, lol!
Yeah. Aren’t we shocked! lol
Saw it today at 5 PM and the theater was full! It’s a “don’t miss” movie. Loved it and didn’t hear one negative comment. Lots of claps and cheers from the audience.
I waiting for that by Hollyweird reporter
I thought they went bankrupt
I read a negative review from a somewhat surprising source.

I still intend to see the movie, but with low expectations.
I saw both movies this weekend. Muppets is a fun movie. I am surprised it is not doing well.
God is not dead had lots of one-dimensional characters and lots of problems that can be fixed in two hours. I still enjoyed it anyhow.
It would be funny if ‘God’s Not Dead’ did better at the box office than ‘Noah’.
Wouldn’t that be great?! lol
Other FReepers said it was packed too. Thanks for your review. :-)
I’m not really surprised. If anyone expects the same level of apologetics as Case for Christ is from a low budget, fledgling Christian film company they’re being unrealistic.
Btw, Kevin Sorbo said in an interview that the target audience isn’t atheists, it’s agnostics and Believers. The review was only interested in targeting atheists.
Loved it and didnt hear one negative comment. Lots of claps and cheers from the audience.
Good. I will try to see it soon.
In the Top 5? Hollywierd will be forced to listen now. Unfortunately it be because of the money...it is a great movie
I'm equally happy to see the muppets do poorly.
I love the innovation behind the original muppets, but hate the politics of those in charge now.
If you're going to champion the decline of American tradition and morality, you're not going to get my expendable income.
One of the people that was in our group is my friend who is a semi-retired Catholic priest. He loved it and thought that it was a great tool for showing to those on the fence, college students (to give them courage to stand up for their beliefs) and for lite evangelism.
Yes and they’ll try to skew the message while raking in profit.
I agree. The original Muppets were cute until they became political tools.
