First daughter Sasha Obama cut a stylish figure in jeans and shades as the Obama girls visited the Great Wall of China today. Michelle Obama, Malia, 15, and Sasha, 12, were left alone to explore the Mutianyu section of the historical landmark in the northern Beijing suburbs though Chinese police officers looked on protectively. The three walked a stretch of the wall that looks out to a massive rock inscription on a hillside that reads in Chinese: ´Loyal to Chairman Mao.´ The country has been fascinated by Mrs Obama´s ´elegance´ during the weeklong visit to the country to promote educational exchanges between

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Someone actually wrote this in the article: “The first lady has won compliments for her elegant clothing and her interactions with ordinary people in a country where it is rare to see leaders’ spouses or children in public.”
Please pass the barf bag.
Our media is worse than TASS.
I know she is young, and wants to be like other girls...but, please, she should wear a bra in public at least. A white sweater/jersey with no bra? Just too tacky. But what would anyone expect from that family?
I wonder what the Chinese would have to say about this pic of the "elegant" mooch.
That thread was deleted?
That thread was the only “fun” news I’ve read in a while.
Is the mooch advertising for the prime minister of China with those tight fitting pants? No wonder Boraxo don’t want her around. LMAO
“The country has been fascinated by Mrs Obama´s ´elegance´”
The term “elegance” has been horribly warped.
Next can we expect The First Lady to give twerk lessons to the ordinary people?
What are they doing there? Spring Break?
They obviously missed much in translation, or are being fed propaganda.
To #8. I know what the Chinese would say in English about Michele’s outfit. Nice jungle camouflage, lady!
In Chinese it would be “Hen Bu Chowl” (i.e., very bad).
Or, as Captain Ahab used to say, “Whale sighted”.
“in a country where it is rare to see leaders spouses or children in public.”
Mainly since the wives do not meddle in the affairs of state. Something I think should be done here in the US.
No more political agenda.
No more social agenda.
No more attending meetings or being a ‘partner’ in the Presidency.
It might be an underhanded insult.
I personally thinks she’s a pretty girl.
Whoever in the hell is dressing her should be shot.
Coming from the Chinese, I would say yes. But the idiots in the U.S. who adore her actually believe that she’s the epitome of good fashion sense.
chances are the Chinese are utterly disgusted by Michelle; she’s dressed like a tourist, not a First Lady.
“the idiots in the U.S. who adore her”
Well, yes, but realistically the US is not in the best mindset right now.
Just a friendly reminder. Tax day is soon. Pay your fair share. These trips don’t pay for themselves.
Where is mama Robinson?
“Well, yes, but realistically the US is not in the best mindset right now.”
Understatement of the century.
I think she envisions China as part of the Kingdom
Absolutely. She looked lovely on the first campaign in her business suits. And at the first convention she was a knockout.
The quotes around elegance are much like these:
“Whoever in the hell is dressing her should be shot.”
I don’t know if it was Big Daughter or Little Daughter, but those pictures of one of them wearing a t-shirt with a peace sign when Daddy had sent over his troop surge was the height of absurdity. He was claiming the troops were fighting for him, while his daughter wore that nonsense...They probably thought it was a Mercedes emblem.
Her real name is Natasha.
What’s daddy’s real name?
I thought these two were ‘off limits’ at the AP when it comes to reporting and/or criticism?
If they are fair game, just let me know and I’ll oblige. Otherwise, cut the crap filler stories.
Ah yes....the $500 garden sneakers.
Headline! “Sasha wears jeans to the Great Wall of China! First family shops for Mao ornaments for the WH Christmas tree! Marian Robinson leaves behind voodoo doll of Beijing Westin hotel manager!”
Every time I see that BULBOUS BEHIND, it makes we wanna barf.
She has ABSOLUTELY ZERO CLASS and is the greatest embarrassment this country has ever had, except of course for odumbo himself.
You want “Class”, take a look at Laura Bush and you will see REAL CLASS.
Maybe Mama Robinson toured the Great Wall by sedan chair ( no pictures allowed)
Her name is Natasha
Doing what? Dragging her knuckles on the ground??
Remember when we journalists that actually did investigative reporting? No, I don’t either.
this reads better in it’s original Korean..
“Stay cool, Sasha! First daughter cuts a stylish figure in shades”
Obama’s daughter wore sunglasses and this is considered a news story. WTF is wrong with the media?
“The country has been fascinated by Mrs Obama´s ´elegance´ during the weeklong visit...”
I have always noticed how certain trashy types tend to translate “elegant” and “classy” as “spending lots of money”.
Let's give them the other side for their sound judgement.
You know the rest.
Michelle is Finkle!
Michelle’s time in the WH on the public dime is coming to an end, she is doubling up on free vacations as fast as she can.
Did I say doubling? I meant tripling. I can’t remember the last time I had THREE extravagant vacations by March. The fun thing is, even the left can’t defend these. The first two were in the US. But Michelle made at least one as expensive as she could by insisting Air Force One be sent out on a trip just for her alone after everyone else left, so she could do extra BIRTHDAY stuff.
Well isn’t she so special. What is wrong with America? People should be SCREAMING about this kind of selfish waste! Why is the first family getting vacations of more than ONE a year where they are bringing everyone they know?
