goto Control Panel, then click Add/Remove. Check “Show Updates”, Click on the latest IE Update, then click remove. Hopefully this should help. Try removing in the “Safe Mode” if the firt method doesn’t work.

A nice slimmer and more secure browser is Comodo Dragon (based on Chrome).

Thanks for the suggestion. When I tried to uninstall IE8, the uninstall stopped and I got a message asking me for the location of vgx.dll.000.

I did a search, and vgx.dll.000 (whatever that is) is not on my computer. And I cannot find a way to get it on my computer.

There has got to be a way to get back to IE7, but I sure can't find it.
