When I worked in middle school (ages 12-14) one of my duties was to monitor the lunch line. THAT was the biggest, hardest job of all. CUTTING in the lunch line was the biggest TABOO of all. HUNGRY kids should not be separated from food too long.

I also remember that ALL the African-American students were on the "free lunch" line. Not ONE of them paid.
That was my first real live view of fraudulent welfare scams. Some of those kids had more money in their pockets than I did.
