The rest of the story...

Watched for a couple of hours. The female showed up. Sat with the male for a while until the rain/snow ended. She kicked him out to go hunt while she stayed behind. He came back with the chow and you know the rest... ;-)

I got to watch for a little bit this afternoon. Got a good view of the babies when Momma got up to feed them a bite of what looked like a chunk of fish that was on the nest. A few minutes later, Dad showed up with more grub.

Yeah, watching these birds isn’t for the squeamish. They aren’t like robins that bring worms to feed their young. Sometimes dinner is still moving. But that’s a part of nature.

Am watching the nest and Momma just stood up. Looks like the third egg is about to hatch. There’s a big pip (hole) in the egg! Possible it could hatch today. Dang it, I have to leave shortly and will miss the action if it does. :-(
