Why you never never ever park on the haul road...

I saw a state inspector park on one behind a Euclid...We told him to move the pickup. He didn't. The Euclid driver backed up, and the pickup looked like that landcruiser...

I do not understand. Why did that truck run over the little car? It had plenty of time to stop or at least swerve around.

“Why did that truck run over the little car?”

Because it can.

Maybe it was a safety demonstration for all of the employees who drive small vehicles at the mine. :-)

Looks like the engine was out of the pickup.

That’s what I thought. Leave an old pickup in the roadway for a haulpack to run over and show the film to the foremen and surveyors who park in stupid locations. 75 ton, 200 ton, 400 ton all the same, except the 75 ton driver would have felt the bump. One of the Nevada mines had a supervisor killed this way, I think it was near Battlemountain.

Several people have gotten killed in Maui after falling asleep (drunk) in their vehicle in a cane field. Cane haul truck tires are about 10 feet tall. The cane truck drivers didn’t even know it had happened.
