I’m 55 and still have my heroes.
Top of the list, my Dad (RIP), one of the “greatest generation.”
Some of the rest: Patton, Nimitz, Reagan, Chesty Puller, Stonewall Jackson, Lee, Ike, Halsey, Chuck Yeager, Arleigh Burke, James Arness, Audie Murphy, Pershing......
You get the idea.
This would indicate to me that it’s quite likely as much the mother’s wish.
