Busy at work and couldn’t find anything about the military copter over our place last night.

Hey, I’ll take whatever I can get! We’re hoping to put up our new greenhouse this weekend. I started plants waaaayy too early last year (late February). That was a big mistake! I was too itchin’ to get started. This year I held off.
Stayed about 5 minutes but mrs p6 says that she saw at least two others a bit later after I was asleep. They weren’t as close but in the same area.

Hope you are feeling better...since a bunch of the family got sick, could it be some type of food poisoning? While you still can think about it, try (ask the others) what you all ate in common. Several years ago, some in my family got a nasty stomach/GI thing and then Sheetz (which my boys frequent a lot) had their tomato issue. Fortunately no one here was sick enough for med care. Got better in a few days on our own.
Now to you helicopter. I live very close to TPike. We “think” that is why we get periodically flown over “house” rattled, shake. The Med helicopters, and TV stations (last week their was a fatality on Rt 30 and they were making their loop over crash scene over our neighborhood, dog got so hyper I thought I would have to give him a benydryl) those are EASY to ID. BUT... We get random, low flying unmarked (numbers but no logo) ones too. We (rest of the fam) think it’s for traffic issues on the TPike...me (tinfoil time) not so sure.
Please FR Mail (if you don’t feel comfortable posting) what was over your houses.
The wx guys I follow in Twitter both say cold snap (Bastardi has been scary accurate day by day a week or so out) AGAIN middle of next week.
How is DIL? Any BraxtonHicks contractions?
Was just on Twitter...no Quinn, but Bastardi tweeted another POSSIBLE nor’easter for Sunday night along New England coast (could be heavy rain, hi winds and ends as snow—so accumulation would be low) and we (mid Atlantic) could see snow showers.
I think I’m going to cry.
Pretty sure it’s stomach virus, it’s been going around here. Youngest son came down with it Wedesday. There was no common food.
However on food poisoning....
I had an 8lb pork butt, vac sealed, with a sell by date of 3/19. I was going to make it last week but made a ham instead. Yesterday I remembered it and pulled it out...still vac packed. Washed it well. Smell wasn’t bad but seemed a bit odd. Maybe my imagination.
So I put it in a crock pot last night around 7. Added another 6 hours cook time this morning. This afternoon it goes into a hot oven for a bit then another couple of hours,in the rock pot on warm.
Only thing is mrs p6 and I keep thinking of that sell by date. What do you think?
When youngest son emails me the copter pics I’ll FReepmail them. He used his phone but it usually takes good pics. Probably get them later today.
The copters were black and very loud...not traffic or media types. Had to be military.
Mrs p6 says at our daughter’s houde they were so low and loud they thought the windows were going to break.
Where were the choppers at? I have been seeing a lot of C130 flights and a Blackhawk yesterday around noon.
I’ve had aged beef before that I washed off the slime before cooking it. An old cook once told me aged meat is really good so I went for it. Not sure about pork, though.
What is it with helicopters in that area? I still have Quinn’s infamous ‘black helicopter’ show on audiotape.

It’s probably ok. Sell by date has to leave some time before it goes bad plus it was vac packed. I’m in bed and it smells pretty good right now.
I bought a large pork but at Walmart recently. Cooked it in the crock pot. When I opened the pack, it also had a bit of a smell, but it was ok when I rinsed it off. Made pulled pork with it. It was delicious and nobody got sick. I bought another one at the same time. It’s in the freezer. I’ll be making pork and sourkraut with that one!

I think you should be ok w/the pork roast. I do believe that the vac pack (no air) getting to it should have kept it. You also have it in a long cooking process...the heat alone should kill off anything.
Now back to the helicopters. I remember Quinn’s “black helicopter” peice and it honestly has stayed w/me. On one level I KNOW I’m by a major highway (and you are too...Parkway West correct!?) so I use that to explain a lot of it. But we HAVE had the super low flies and you have to wonder why they are so close to ground. I have NEVER seen the pilot (that part of your sons explanation is spooky to me). Last Friday, the head on collision on Rt 30, WTAE & WPXI were circling so we had a rhythmic “shake” w/windows rattling over and over thru their early news.
One theory (at my house) is they are “looking” for a particular vehicle on TPIKE so they hover low to see plates and to see if they are exiting onto 30. Plausible.
