'Noah' Review: Brilliantly Sinister Anti-Christian Filmmaking
Breitbart Big Hollywood ^ | 3-28-14 | John Nolte

Posted on 03/29/2014 9:19:22 AM PDT by ReformationFan

When atheist director and co-writer Darren Aronofsky promised that his epic "Noah" would be "the least biblical film ever made," that was not hyperbole. "Noah" is a brilliant, compelling, beautifully-mounted, beautifully-acted piece of storytelling conceived for the sinister purpose of leading people to believe that Christianity and Judaism are something they are not.

And I ask you, could anything make Satan happier than something that leads people to believe they are saved when they are not?

I have absolutely no problem with a filmmaker taking a biblical story and adding or subtracting from it as a way to craft a compelling film. There are all kinds of plot points in Cecil B. DeMille's 1956 masterpiece "The Ten Commandments" that you won't find in the Bible.

Furthermore, Ben-Hur is a fictional character. Somewhere around 99% of "Barabbas" (1961) is made up. The "Robe" (1953) is as phony as "Barabbas." I love all of these movies. I'm no purist. If you want to use the Bible or Christ as a jumping off point to make something up, knock yourself out.

Even Aronofsky does this. In the source material -- aka the Bible -- Noah's sons all have wives… On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.

For dramatic purposes, Aronofsky alters this. The three boys do not have wives and this fact helps drive the story.

Me too. Must rethink my plans. Maybe I’ll start writing a screenplay
about the afterlife of an athiest.

They’d also like to see something that reaffirms their beliefs about those evil Christian teabaggers.

All the movies with Bush Derangement Syndrome in them were box office hits.

It’s interesting that Aronofsky is an atheist, but was insistent on having a private audience with the Pope-which he didn’t get, by the way, just as the woman who was portrayed in the movie “Philomena” didn’t.

These hypocrites hate the Catholic Church, but have no problem trying to use the Pope to sell tickets, and to legitimize their anti-Catholic agendas.

I almost feel sorry for them. Almost.

Haven’t seen it yet, but looking forward to.

It’s a movie, not a documentary.

"'NOAH' REVIEW: BRILLIANTLY SINISTER ANTI-CHRISTIAN FILMMAKING"

Can't be anti-Christian - there were NO Christians in Noah's time. Christianity is belief in Jesus Christ.

How can anyone tell? Russel Crowe doesn’t talk...he mumbles. How can you convey a message while mumbling?

Nice try at word-play.

Your statement would be true if the movie were filmed in the days of Noah or at some other pre-Christian time. Like many other Hollywood offerings this movie is likely an attempt to undermine and dilute Biblical beliefs.

in an otherwise scathing review I read yesterday was the line that the actors individual performances were good. In an otherwise panned movie, I guess that is something to Crowe about. And Hermione too.

Warning label: Any similarity between this movie and the biblical story of Noah is purely accidental, except for the name of the title character and his sons.”

See also Ben Shapiro’s “9 Problems” review; this from the Christian post: http://www.christianpost.com/news/noah-movie-review-deconstructing-noahs-arc-godawful-storytelling-117044/ ; this rather witty and tongue in cheek: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/churchofthemasses/2014/03/the-utter-embarrassing-mess-of-noah-and-why-everybody-is-lying-about-it/

There is another quit sarcastic review I read Thursday where in the author compared Noah to Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter series. He concluded that it would have been better and less offensive for Aronofsky to had made Noah as a sci-fi film rather than as somewhat “biblical.”

All good art is grounded somehow in the truth. This movie is a piece of crap, dealing in sensation and cliche. It’s lazy, stupid, and dishonest all at the same time. This isn’t just because it’s unfaithful to genesis: as a work in pure mythmaking it’s a failure because it speaks to nothing true about the world or being human.

It could be considered anti-Christian and Jew because
the argument is that it makes a mockery of their beliefs.
It doesn’t matter that Christians did not exist at the time of Noah.

Big wool. Another stupid review by a person who does not like movies…..I wonder if the idiot saw the movie. Even Glenn Beck admitted to not seeing the movie while spewing nonsense…..that was embarrassing for him which is good. He needs to be called out on his lies and distortions when they happen.

Doesn’t appear they need you to watch it. 15 million opening day is pretty amazing. I didn’t see it nor will I but for different reasons….no interest.
