The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.'

Happy Sunday Night...Classic Radio Time...

(((((Early Ping)))))

Happy Saturday night all. I'll be traveling tomorrow and won't be at a computer, hence the early ping. With luck I might check in during the last hour. Gina, please host if you are able.

It's a baseball lineup for opening day. What Ed isn't playing this year is the Brooklyn Pinafore from the Fred Allen show. Really funny stuff, listen if you are able. Anyway...a nice lineup...Lucille Ball...and Baltimore boy Baby Ruth!

It's a rainy weekend in Baltimore, hope you all are happy and well...

Hey, thanks, Vision! I hate that you’re going to be gone, but I hope you have a good trip on your new job!

I’ll keep an eye on the thread, but with you gone and it being early and all, well, if nothing else, Lord willing we’ll see you next week...

We’re burning a last fire in our little fire pit, grilling sweet potatoes and ribs and having some of Keith’s homemade beer, along with some Natural Light swill. :-)

What are you doing?

I’m watching TCM, munching on dried fruit and will watch some boxing before bed. A great Saturday night!

What a week. So glad to be changing jobs.

Ellery Queen has a baseball epi. Stolen lucky bat of a player is messing up his expected heavy-hitting performance in the World Series, iirc.

Vision, it was all baseball all the time. We kinda checked out after Abbott and Costello, although I was making dinner and listened to Our Miss Brooks after that.

Let me know how you like your new job! :-)
