I’m encouraged (and somewhat impressed) that this thread has evolved into an honest but rather polite “agree to disagree” and that nobody has been banned. Yet.
Fred is right. We’re all so frustrated that we don’t trust anyone and are at each others’ throats. I pretty much quit posting because anything I say results in angry FReepmail accusing me of taking sides, like conversation is some sort of competition.
The truth is that we’re all losing.
It is nice to hear from humblegunner, being his usual refreshingly obnoxious but entertaining self. Yes, that is a compliment, but you need to be nice to Butter. You may think her ideas are nuts, but she’s sincere, and that matters.
Divided, we fall. Messages behind our backs about who is to be trusted and who is not, are destructive. The obstructionists and obots who show up here are easily identified, we should know enough by now to be able to isolate and ignore them.
If someone writes to you and suggests you not communicate with certain freepers, that very behaviour should make you suspicious, and allow you to reply...no thanks, I will decide for myself.
There’s a lot of backstabbing going on in Private Mail. People send me copies. It’s more than sad, it’s downright heartbreaking, and an abuse of a facility that was never meant to be used that way.
