I had the same thing happen to me. Was hospitalized twice with what they diagnosed a blood clot (DVT) in my right calf. The pain was pretty bad and would not go away. Finally, after a couple of years of trying, I got my doctor to order an MRI. It turned out I had a tumor in the nerve sheath in my right leg. I had to have surgery and I still have pain and tingling in my leg and foot but it's much better than it was.
A question for you: Were you in Vietnam?

Insist on being checked for osteomyelitis. Almost killed me in ‘58, but it took a few weeks for them to diagnose correctly. Killer staph. Thank God for antibiotics.

Also try some Apple Cider Vinegar in some water or fruit juice. Just 1 teaspoon per glass, 3x a day. It will help reduce the pain from inflamation a LOT. This sounds trivial but it’s not, it really works.
