he biological mother of a severely malnourished 5-year-old Spring boy whose father and stepmother were arrested this weekend on child endangerment charges will seek custody of her son, her lawyer said Tuesday.
The boy's father, Bradley Bleimeyer, 24, and 33-year-old stepmother Tami Bleimeyer, are charged with child endangerment. A criminal complaint accuses them of endangering the boy by failing to feed him.
Frank Mann, an attorney for the boy's biological mother, said Bradley Bleimeyer had kept his client from her son for two and a half years. Mann said Bradley Bleimeyer often took the child out of state, making it difficult for her to locate him.
She was reunited with the boy this week for the first time in more than two years, Mann said. The child, who weighs about 29 pounds, is hospitalized.

Interesting, I hadn’t read before that the “brother” that reported the abuse had to be a step brother, since the so called father was only twenty four. It’s pathetic that someone not blood related has more empathy and love for a child than the excrement of a father.
Yea and if you think about it the father is 24 so that means he was 18 or 19 when he fathered the child. Too young to have kids in the first place.
True but what was going on with the Bio mother that this piece of carp got the child. Still unknown factors.
The story doesn’t say the father won custody but often disappeared with the child, making it difficult to locate him.
Odds are, if the story is any indication, her only crime may have been being poor. Too often, authorities are uninterested in honestly helping lower income parents.
What the story does say as I recall is that the Mother hadn’t seen the child for two years and the father took off with the child after abuse complaints were filed and but deflected by a lawyer. Bottom line is there is a poor child severely abused by two animals that need to be put down.

I do not know if women in General Population in prison have the same animosity as men toward child abusers, but I surely hope so.

Good point. Of course, given the state of reporting these days, the “journalist” may have gotten the father’s age wrong.

There have been, in the not-too-distant past, many men who have become fathers at those ages and have been very good fathers to their children.
I trust you are telling the truth, but so am I. When it comes to social workers, poor parents are at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to fighting them. Providing inexpensive, but nourishable food, clean sheets, and a decent roof is often not enough in their eyes. And when a child is taken away for some minor reason, it can be very difficult to get them back if you cannot afford a lawyer.
In the past, you were ready for fatherhood by the time you were a tern, because it was what was expected of you.
Even with a lawyer it is a crapshoot
