I’ve walked up within 100 feet or so of a small flock or wild turkeys a couple of times on the riverbank in the last 10 days or so. They stared at me and walked off into the woods-but if it was Fall, I probably wouldn’t have gotten within 100 yards before they spooked-like they know when the season opens...

Thank you!

It is supposed to rain tomorrow evening/night-which is fine, as long as it doesn’t freeze...

The buzzards returned just a few weeks ago.

Now it’s the opening day of Indians baseball.

Spring has sprung.

We are incubating a bunch of eggs now. She’s got 4 or 5 for us and some for two other chicken-raising compadres.

the kohler faucet saga is not yet at an end. Mr B is still missing a washer that goes inside the dome shaped covering that covers where the handle meets the faucet. I called Kohler yet again and they are mailing me EVERYTHING that goes on the inside of the faucet, hopefully the black oval piece which serves as a washer is part of what they are sending. Mr B and i both explained to her at some length that that is the missing piece. I know he is ready to be done with this, and my nerves are frayed from it as well, but i am not yet giving up on this $800 faucet. it HAS to work properly. the other thing he asked her for was the name of a plumber who is a qualified service rep for their faucets who may be able to show him exactly how this goes together without CAUSING the problem. The opening where the handle attaches is oval shaped. you push up and down on the handle to turn the water off and on, you rotate the handle from left to right in order to make the water hot or cold. Ordinarily the opening is round, you can turn the handle either side and turn it off and on from any point. here if you attempt to turn the water off and the handle does not line up with the oval shaped opening, it causes the domed piece to pop off. He assures me that if i make sure the handle lines up with the opening, this will work. I said that is fine, if i am the only person in this house to use this faucet but there are 3-4 other people and then the cleaning ladies on top of it, who will be using this faucet, i cannot guarantee that everyone will use it in that way. I can’t imagine that the faucet was designed to require you to return the handle to the up and down position before turning it off or on. it seems counter-intuitive to me.

you can see the opening is oblong, and the black plastic piece fits on the underside of that opening, it had broken and i guess i tossed it, from the original installation.

Is it nickel finish? Do you love it or are you ready to find a replacement? That’s what it boils down to now.

How ridiculous-I had a push-pull faucet in the kitchen at the house at first-it was very pretty, but is the one that got replaced with a regular faucet with hot and cold knobs, because the thing broke-now I know why the plastic thingee flew off-it is because that type of faucet was made for someone who contemplates their every gesture-not a normal person/family...

If it breaks again, are you going to replace it with another type of faucet? I’ve heard from the plumber I work with that he thinks Moen makes the best push-pull faucets, but I’ve never bought one...
