I don’t necessarily associate mice with dirt. I get mice in my house every fall. My cat generally takes care of them. When I lived in Manhattan, the building next door was taken down. The mice problem was rampant. It wasn’t over until everything was repaired and restored. Of course, mice droppings are unsanitary and chefs in restaurants have to be on top of things. The Health Dept. is brutal.
Cats are great. Mice would have been more of a problem in my apt had I not had cats. Little old lady next door neighbor was a serious hoarder. And not antiques, clothes or other stuff. She literally never even threw pizza boxes, MickeyD’s containers or drink bottles away. Mouse heaven!
