I’m glad your mom is doing better-and still apparently has her sense of humor...

Cities always pour water on lawns and plants-that is why their governments wring their hands and whine that they will all die of thirst because the rest of us who live outside the city are conserving water, which is a crock-they will happily watch everyone else do without, as long as they can have a beautiful yard. The cities need to be limited on the water they can buy by those who own the sources-it has already started here, along with the howling...

I’ve heard Cali cities have always hogged up water from everyone else-and now they want the farmers to give theirs up for some fish, rather than the cities cutting back.

Non-native, tropical vegetation uses up too much water, and it usually lives two years at most here-it is too cold in winter and the soil chemistry is wrong for it.

Thank you!

I won’t be happy with that-I want to see him ruined like Mitchell, at the very least-better yet, do time like Liddy...

Against my better judgment that it would raise the blood pressure, I watched the recent clip from Greta ... Not only is this guy a total “Dickinsonhead”, if you didn’t know better it’d be hard to believe that he was properly vetted to run as a serious candidate, with all the background info he had to know would eventually surface.

It was painful to get through it in a number of ways – every time he ended a thought with that guttural “hmm” sound, I wanted to reach through the screen & help him ‘clear his throat’. :-P

Nothing like that out here-but it is cool...

Last night on a novella I saw, there was a scene with two DEA agents in Juarez-one was eating some fast food thing that had greasy French fries sticking out of what looked like a roll, with mayo dripping everywhere-the other guy said-loosely translated-don’t eat that-it is disgusting-the eater replied it is delicious, while licking his fingers.

Now that would make a great billboard to put right beside a Whole Foods store...

Not sure what other site xshub found with stuff about the guy but it had various of his twitter names listed. one was VCU4boobs if I’m not mistaken, pix with various porn stars and strippers, one named LISA LICIOUSXXX... He is as Greta put it, quite a piece of work! I do not think he has a party affiliation at this time. I’m sure Eric cantor is praying he runs!

I would think it is a joke if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes on Fox-I guess he has an Anthony Weiner obsession...

Here's a yeasty little puff piece on the Carneys, including in the captions how much they spend on clothes(hint: it's outrageous). It's a disgusting piece. Burge was right, keep a bucket handy while you read it.

I haven't been following COMMON CORE stuff bc my kids are out of school and went to private schools anyway, but got this in email today, if you know any Catholics who are interested.

Definitely vomit-inducing, but oh so Washington. I am so darn sick of hearing how women need confidence, women shouldn’t be called bossy etc. OMG put on your big girl panties and just live your life. I had zero coddling from anyone growing up, spent much of my childhood being shy and hiding behind my mother’s skirts, moved away from home at 21 and lived my dang life. Far too many people treat their kids like little science experiments or hothouse plants.

I’m tired of it too-I never had any of the greenhouse plant parenting-and I’m damned grateful. Most of us would never have survived the real world if we had-so how are these fragile women being raised now going to cope? Aren’t we still equal-or do we need to be spoken to carefully-now, don’t say bossy to her-like this was the Victorian era? Are we expected to get the vapors if we’re upset?

My little Ava won first place in the science fair. She is a self assured little girl with a good head on her soldiers. She often plays with the boys, because she isn’t into the catty girls games that already are happening in her class. I think she will do fine in the real world. Her cousin, who lives across the street from her won first place for her grade level. A couple of great girls...will probably be considered “bossy” some day.
