The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.'

Evening folks. We have a tax show tonight. I’m mostly interested in Archie Andrews and Lux.

LOTS of yard work this weekend...

Hello, FRiends! Thanks, Vision!

It's a tax time lineup. Oh boy. But, we have a Lux!

The WAMU entries for tonight's Johnny Dollar episodes are the ones we heard last week, so I'll put the next two up, assuming tonight's JD lineup is in error. Also, the Gunsmoke episode listed is the one we heard last week, so we'll have to wait and see what the episode will be. The air dates given for Fibber McGee and Lux conflict with the RadioGOLDINdex's dates given.

These brief synopses are used with permission from the RadioGOLDINdex © 2014 J. David Goldin.

MMMMMM, very good! Send it on to me.

We’re doing fine, Vision. It’s been great weather. I’m just trying to get the laundry done, and we’re trying to decide what to put on the grill. How about you?

It feels good to do the yard work. You’re nicely tired, and then you can enjoy sitting back with a beer admiring how nice your work looks.

You can’t believe this. I guess I’m stupid in a “fool me twice” sort of way. AGAIN, at the same Walmart, today I bought the pork ribs, and they’re spoiled, just like last time. AGAIN, I ran over to the near-by grocery store to get some good ones. Shame on me, and I will never buy ribs from Walmart again. The new, good ones have just gone on the grill, and we just watched Bubba win the Masters.

Hey, Gina, I’m here, and the show just began. If you get any BBQ recipes, feel free to send them to me! Walker just listed all the tax shows coming up, and I might have to shot off the show to avoid getting depressed.

BSF53, Welcome! Vision is the true barbecue connoisseur, and he can share the very best with you.

You should ask Vision to add you to the Big Broadcast ping list.

Vision, here’s our newest BB recruit! I talked him into coming on with us when he mentioned the Big Broadcast to me! Wow! :-)
