Word For The Day, Monday, 4/14/14

;

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

bien-pensant; noun; adj.

1.Right-thinking, orthodox, conformist; conservative.  [quotations ▼] 2010, Bagehot, The Economist, 23 Aug 2010: He hopes Mr Abbott wins the election in part because it would, he says, annoy bien-pensant British journalists and Leftists who oppose the Australian's positions on things like abortion, gay marriage or climate change. 2.Someone who accepts and/or espouses a fashionable idea after it has been established and maintains it without a great amount of critical thought.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Etymology: French ; from bien, well + present participle of penser, to think

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Yes, 82 yesterday, 48 tomorrow.

No, you’re not turning the A/C on in April.

Or just don’t wear so many clothes. Pragmatic bonus: there will be less to wash.

that’s fine on the main floor, and that’s what we did in our room last night, it was helped by the ceiling fan. the kids rooms do not have ceiling fans, and xsboy is coming home this weekend for Easter and he has horrible allergies, which are compounded by open windows. If he’s feeling it up in Syracuse, he will be miserable at home where far more is blooming. As i told xshub i just HATE to be hot; i do not complain nearly as much about being cold, bc you can add sweaters, blankets, socks etc.

pretty sure he’s had that in the past. need a scrip for it right? He’s too old for the pediatrician, so that means he would have to see Jafar, xshub’s internist. Jafar was referred by the Sultan, xshub’s urologist who dealt with the kidney stones.

There definitely was a Reid connection to the chicoms and a solar plant idea because as soon as that news hit the fan, the invasion stopped.
Not being your everyday bien-pensants, I got the family tickets for some fast action this weekend. I'm thinking Sugar Magmaulya will be a sight to see.

Yes, he would need a prescription. Doesn’t he have a “family doctor”?

I am so sorry. It’s good you were there with her, so she was surrounded by love before she left.

As I understand it:
1890 Bundy family comes into possession of a massive amount of land.
1993 Feds take over land without compensation to Bundy family, start harging ‘grazing fees’, Bundy’s say FU
2014 feds swoop in with snipers and helicopters, start confiscating cattle, Patriots find out, show up, feds threaten some more, more patriots show up, feds back down.

Now it sounds like harry Reid is involved in some solar farm deal with the Chinese for the land stolen by the feds from the Bundy’s.

the kids had the pediatrician as a family dr, he kicks them out when they get to college. He has not needed a dr since, so his “FAMILY” doctor will be Jafar, xshub’s internist. xsgirls see my internist as their family dr.

I was talking to a dear friend about it yesterday and she said her girls have gone to several games and would do it if their jobs allowed them the time. She said the games are a lot of fun and that if my family wouldn't go with me, she would.
