For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. (1Thessalonians 4:13-18)
Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed--in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. (1 Corinthians 15:50-58)
I hope Mr. Darby didn't spend too much time and effort inventing that since Paul invented it thousands of years earlier
I am not saying there will be no Resurrection.
I am saying rapture is NOT scriptural.
Up until the 1600s, the word rapture meant the kidnap and rape of a woman.
Really.
Isn't it funny that the religion which kept the scriptures not only from the lay people but the priests is the one that denies what the scriptures say...
And they still don't read nor believe the scriptures and they still deny it...
