It was OK back then. Not Beverly hills but not that bad. But when the libs wrecked the logging industry, that really slaughtered it. Then they closed Big Tupper over snow making and that was another hit. then the OWD and Verneer plant closed and that was all she wrote.

Uptown now looks like a ghetto and the junction is being reclaimed by the swamp.

I used to buy my comics from a pharmacy on Route 30 downtown; back in the days of spinner racks. They used to give the locals a free ride on the chairlift up Mt. Morris once a year. You could sit on your butt and slide down the falls where Bog River entered the south end of Big Tupper.

For kids, it was more fun than Detroit. :-)
