Why doesn't the State's GOP Chairman just change from R to D? In my mind, there's no difference between a pro-abort republican and a democrat anyways...

They have to maintain the façade that we have a two party system. Else a party might rise that would actually be a opposition to the Socialist, a/k/a Democrat party.

The purpose of the Republican Party is to prevent the forming of a Party that would actually oppose the Democrat Party.
