Sooo, why didn’t someone in one of the other cars “close by” pull up near them and let them in? The park rangers, I would expect them to be stupid, acted predictably......

Does anybody remember the Bruce Cockburn song "Wondering Where The Lions Are"? It was a Top 40 hit back in the 1979-1980 period. It was one of those easy-listening type songs and had some acoustic guitar in it.
I do not like being near lions. Over at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, they had lions roaming around behind plexiglass as people played slot machines and blackjack. I was not comfortable with that arrangement at all. I crossed the street and spent my gambling money at New York, New York.

Years ago we did a "safari" tour of Ngorongoro Crater National Park in Tanzania. We were in the classic old fashioned open Land Rover on a sunny comfortable day.At one point the guide took us within about 10 feet of a small rise in the landscape where a pride (or part of a pride) of lions were "resting".There were about a half dozen of them...including an adult male.I,and at least one or two others in the vehicle, became quite concerned. The guide realized this and said "don't worry, they've just eaten".
I still needed a change of underwear after *that* little episode.

That’s the dilemma when you don’t carry a Winchester in the trunk.
