When Vernon needed money to renovate his barbershop, she borrowed against her house to pay for it.
When Vernon's business failed, Oprah bought the note on Barbara Winfrey's house and foreclosed on it.
So she evicted Barbara from her own original home as well as her new marital home.
That goes beyond nasty. Never quite understood the Oprah phenomenon. But she sure rode it for all it was worth.
