If it takes full power to taxi, you may not have put your wheels down. :=)

He was still at 1200 feet or so when the warning sounded, so why didn’t he just drop ‘em and continue the approach? Three greens is a GO on a 73 isn’t it?

Haaretz reported that one of the pilots involved was sent to complete a training course as well as testing on a simulator. Both pilots should have to take additional trainer time since it is a crew-served aircraft. The Co-Pilot initiates and verifies the checklists.

Very, very unusual. Most El Al pilots are ex-military or current military - and dam good. Makes you wonder what else was happening that they were so distracted.

I wonder what the audible warning sounded like?
Here’s one option:
“what are you, meshuginah? put the gear down, schmuck! oi vey, like I told your father you should’ve gone to medical school”

There is a saying among pilots about landing wheels up. “There are those that have and those that will.” Unfortunaly I am among those that have. Many years ago as a teenager I landed my dad’s Bonanza wheels up. The positive thing about it is that is a lesson learned.

Must have forgotten to read out the checklist too. Landing gear is part of that.

Even Muslim pilots seem to understand the need for putting down the gear before landing.
