Nobody knows till the time comes but you can help desensitize yourself with drill and hunting is always a good way to tell if you can shoot to kill. I think rabbit, squirrel or small game...then build up to deer and hogs.
That's why the British used to "blood" the troops. Happens in our armed forces. That's why training is so important. Reflex beats having to think it out during an attack.

I think rabbit, squirrel or small game...then build up to deer and hogs.You might think that'll help, but killing game ain't nothing like looking a man in the eye as you squeeze the trigger to kill him. It ain't the same, and never will be.
