Tabbies tend to have a good affinity for dogs.

My late coonhound and late gray tabby got along very well.

We had a Turkish Van named Rambo. He was as atypical cat as you could find. He did well with our Basset Hound and Poodle. He wasn’t afraid of water, either. He would get in the shower with you, as long as you didn’t spray water directly on him, he was fine.

My late JRT got on very well with kittens - they shared her sense of play. All my cats liked her too.

I have 2 ragdolls they are the best cats I have EVER owned!!! Had a full
grown male (very big boy) brought home a new female kitten, he carried her around in his mouth by the nape of her neck just like her MAMA
Would!!! I had never seen anything like it, whenever he went anywhere in the house he took the kitten with him!!!! GREAT BREED but I also LOVE
my rescue kitty just as much!!!

Ragdolls just get along with everybody.Except for the rambunctious kitten I brought home. My Ragdoll bops him on the head whenever he gets near. Kitten keeps coming back for more. I figure the kitten will wear the Ragdoll down. LOL

Sooooo, maybe it was just the kitten I brought home that my Ragdoll didn't like.
I'm curious why the article said their hair was only medium length? Toby's hair is long and gets knots where he washes (which, granted, isn't often!) He is a sweetie, though. Love when he goes limp when we pick him up!

My male ragdoll’s hair is VERY thick and long I have to have him groomed
on a regular basis, my female on the other hand has fur like a bunny
rabbit I am not sure why there is this difference. My male without
grooming his fur will matt, in the summer I have the groomer give him a
Lion cut he has SOOOOOOOOO much fur I want him to be cool!!!
They do go completely limp when you pick them up they are a wonderful
friendly breed!!!!!!!

My Rocket was a Maine Coon, and we bought a giant, stuffed sheep dog for him as a big toy and bed. He took one look at it and ran for cover.
We left it in the middle of the room, and eventually he realized that it was "dead."
This was the eventual outcome of our "mistake."

So many people have told me how the dogs are always nice around cats WHEN THEY ARE HOME. But, when they leave the house, dogs will kill them.
