I recall my parents trying to convince me to see this movie when I was young (can’t recall what the movie is I wanted to see). We saw it in a drive in and like you, when that first scene opened I was practically clawing my way through the windshield to get closer to the screen. Nothing, nothing was like it. What a fantastic time to be a kid. Hooked for life indeed.
“Nothing, nothing was like it. What a fantastic time to be a kid.”
You bet! It was my childhood from then on. And I never outgrew it. When we finally got a VCR, the three movies we bought first? Star Wars, Empire and Jedi. Watched each of them a hundred-plus times.
A few years ago I read some young person said that the Matrix was “Star Wars for their generation.” No way! Nothing, nothing, nothing compares to Star Wars in the late 70s/early 80s to a young boy at that time. Nothing, nothing, nothing.
When I’m 80 years old I hope they are still making Star Wars movies. I’ll be playing the games, and watching the movies over and over, and loving it just like I did when I was ten.
