Global authoritarian technocracy? That is by far a too kind description of the same old Oligarchy’s trying to regain power from from the age of reason. The very term “technocracy” is never likely to exist except as a theory.

It nearly exists right now. The ability to track and manage a citizen from birth to death in every activity is upon us.

The goal of the elites is to have their upper crust insulated from a consumption driven debt slave society with FAR fewer members of the debt slave society than they currently have scrabbling around on the globe.

A technocracy is a form of government where decision-makers are chosen for a governing office based on their technical expertise, basically a government run by the best scientific minds.

The Democrats and this administration only act like know-it-all experts. Advocates of reason and the scientific method, are hardly popular even in scientific fields these days (see climate science as an example). Real bona-fide genius in a scientific field doesn't even make one a leader in said field anymore, it's all political.

We are far closer to an "Idiocracy" than a Technocracy, but the most pressing concern should be the raise of the Oligarchy.

Oh, I am coming at it from the standpoint of being a technologically enhanced authoritarian regime. I hadn’t realized it was already defined as you pointed out.
