Homeschoolers Need Not Apply: Will This Be the Face of Common Core?
Breitbart ^ | 05/07/2014 | Dr. Susan Berry

Posted on 05/07/2014 9:43:59 AM PDT by Rusty0604

An Indiana-based energy distribution group that operates in Ohio has informed the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) that the company will not hire homeschool graduates, a situation that may not only reflect discrimination, but also the possibility that, with a nationalized set of standards such as Common Core, homeschoolers could be shown the door when they apply for jobs in the future.

The HR departments would summarily reject the application and resume from the likes of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates because they lacked the proper credentials. My response would be: Good to find out early that such places would be miserable to work at.

I think for every 1 employer whose up-tight and statist HR department rejects applicants who are anything but orthodox, there will be 10 employers who are savvy enough to actually prefer applicants who went outside of the education establishment in order to thrive.

So it isn’t what you know, it is how you learned it that matters? It makes sense that a company pushing more expensive, less efficient energy solutions would not want someone who thinks for himself to work for them.

Independent thinkers, critical thinkers need not apply.

That's their loss. These kids will become smart, hard-working employees for somebody - just not them.

Homeschoolers will end up owning the company and employing public school graduates to rake the leaves at their homes.

Future trend. But hey, I’d expect to see that if a person isn’t connected on Facebook to the Democrat party, they won’t be considered for a job either.

Its only a matter of time.

Just checked their web site...the word “sustainability” is a great alarm.

The “sustainability” is an indicator that the owner is a hard-core lib who doesn't want home-schoolers because he thinks they are predominantly conservative.

I’d rather hire homeschoolers than the public educated people. Homeschoolers are smarter. Then again, homeschoolers might run their own business, so company is like NiSource can go to Hell.

Rusty, Thanks.
You have my blessing to do so as well. Share, share, share...before this sort of thing is made illegal. We’re fast running out of time.

Their loss.

My kids avoided the schoolag archipelago, except for the last two years for one child.

Best thing we ever did for them. No regrets at all.
